How many days between two dates?

Pick a start and an end date and the calculator shows the gap in days, weeks, months and years. The dates can be in either order, and the difference is always shown as a positive number, so it works for counting down to a future event or back to a past one.

• Length of a contract, notice period, lease or probation.

• Checking visa stays and the number of days spent in a country.

Inclusive or exclusive?

The calculator counts the number of days from the start date to the end date, so 1 January to 2 January is 1 day. Some situations count both the first and last day, for example a hotel booking from the 1st to the 5th covers five dates but four nights, and a leave request from Monday to Friday covers five days. If your situation counts both ends, add one to the result.

Months and years are counted as whole calendar months and years between the dates. Because months vary in length, “1 month” can mean anything from 28 to 31 days; the day count is always exact.
