Features

  • Generate from any text or URL
  • Adjustable size
  • Download as PNG

Generate a downloadable QR code from any text or URL, rendered entirely in your browser.

Make a QR code in seconds

Type or paste a link or any text and the QR code appears immediately. Adjust the size from 128 to 512 pixels and download it as a PNG for posters, menus, business cards, product packaging, slides or invitations. The code is generated in your browser, and there is no account, tracking or expiry.

Static codes never expire

This tool creates static QR codes: your text or URL is encoded directly in the pattern of squares. There is no redirect through a third-party server, so the code keeps working for as long as the destination exists. Some QR services create “dynamic” codes that route through their servers and stop working if a subscription lapses. These codes do not.

Tips for codes that scan reliably

  • Keep content short. Longer text means more, smaller squares, which are harder to scan. Use a short, clean URL where possible.
  • Print large enough. A rule of thumb is that the code should be at least one-tenth of the scanning distance. For a poster read from 2 metres, aim for about 20 cm.
  • Keep the quiet zone. The white border around the code is part of it. Do not crop it or place the code on a busy background.
  • Keep contrast high. Dark squares on a light background work best; inverted or low-contrast colours confuse many scanners.
  • Test before printing, with more than one phone.

Double-check the link before printing. A static code cannot be edited later, so a typo means reprinting.
