- 3Adjust the font, size or colour if needed, then download.

- Erase anything, or add new text
- Text recognition runs in your browser, no upload
Edit text in an image without design software. The tool reads the text in your picture, lets you click a line and type new words, fills the old text in from the background, and draws your words at the same size and colour. You can also erase anything and add new text. Text recognition runs in your browser, and the image is never uploaded.
How it works
- Find the text. The tool reads your image and highlights every line of text it finds.
- Click and type. Click a line to change it. The old words are filled in from the background around them, and yours are drawn on the same baseline at the same size and colour.
- Fine-tune. Pick the font that looks closest, and adjust the size or colour from the bar above the image.
- Download the edited image in its original format.
Also useful for
- Erase: drag over a date, a watermark-style label, or a stray mark to blend it into the background.
- Add text: put a caption, label or correction anywhere.
- Fixing a typo on a slide or poster when you don't have the original file.
Tips for the best result
- Plain and softly shaded backgrounds give a seamless result. Busy photos may look smudged where the old text was.
- If a line wasn't found, use Erase over it and Add text in its place.
- Keep replacements about the same length as the original so they fit the space.
Editing a PDF instead? Edit PDF changes the real text in the file, often in its own original font.
