Fixing text typed with Caps Lock
The most common reason people need a case converter is a paragraph accidentally typed in capitals, or a spreadsheet column where names are in a mix of styles. Paste the text, choose Sentence case or Title Case, and copy the result instead of retyping.
Know the limits of automatic Title Case
This converter capitalises the first letter of every word. Style guides such as AP and Chicago keep short words like “and”, “of” and “the” lowercase in the middle of a title, so you may want to adjust those by hand. Similarly, Sentence case lowercases everything after the first letter of each sentence, so proper nouns and acronyms (London, NASA, iPhone) need to be fixed afterwards.
camelCase for developers
camelCase removes spaces and punctuation, lowercases the first word and capitalises the start of each following word. It is the standard naming style for variables in JavaScript, Java and many other languages, and it is handy for turning a column heading like “Customer email address” into customerEmailAddress.
