How to Use
- 1Upload one or more PDF files.
- 2Split by custom ranges, every page, or every N pages.
- 3Download each part, each PDF's parts as a ZIP, or everything at once.
Features
- Split multiple PDFs at once
- Split by custom page ranges, every page, or every N pages
- Download each part individually or all as a ZIP
- No upload, 100% in-browser
Split a PDF file into separate documents by page ranges, entirely in your browser.
Three ways to split
- Custom ranges: you describe each output file yourself, as explained below.
- Every page: each page becomes its own PDF.
- Every N pages: the document is cut into equal parts of N pages, for example every 2 pages for a stack of two-page forms. The last part may be shorter.
You can add several PDFs and split them all at once with the same method. Download each part on its own, all parts of one PDF as a ZIP, or everything together as one ZIP with a folder for each PDF.
Splitting by page ranges
Split PDF turns one document into several. You describe each output file as a page range, and separate the files with a semicolon. For example, 1-3; 4-6; 7-10 produces three PDFs: pages 1 to 3, pages 4 to 6 and pages 7 to 10. Inside a group you can also list single pages and ranges with commas, so 1, 3-4; 5-9 produces one file with pages 1, 3 and 4 and a second with pages 5 to 9.
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| 1-5; 6-10 | Two PDFs of five pages each |
| 1; 2; 3 | Three single-page PDFs |
| 1-2, 9; 3-8 | File 1: pages 1, 2 and 9. File 2: pages 3 to 8 |
| 4-6 | One PDF containing only pages 4 to 6 |
Typical uses
- Separating a scanned batch, for example ten two-page invoices scanned in one go, back into individual documents. Choose Every N pages with N set to 2.
- Breaking a large report into chapters so each one can be sent to the right person.
- Getting under an upload size limit by sending a long document in parts.
- Splitting a combined application pack into the separate files a portal asks for.
Split, extract or remove?
All three tools work with page numbers, and they are suited to different jobs. Use Split PDF when you want several output files at once. Use the PDF Page Extractor when you want one new file with just the pages you choose. Use the PDF Page Remover when it is easier to say which pages to drop than which to keep.
Not sure how many pages the document has? Load it here and the page count is shown, or check it with the PDF Information Checker.
Quality and privacy
Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images are untouched. Each output keeps the original page sizes. All of the work happens in your browser; the PDF is never uploaded.
