How to Use

  1. 1Choose the country or size you need.
  2. 2Upload a clear, front-facing photo, then drag and zoom until your head fills the dashed oval.
  3. 3Download the photo, or the 4 × 6 inch print sheet to print at a photo studio.

Features

  • US 2 × 2 in, UK, Schengen, Australia, China, India, Nepal and 35 × 45 mm
  • Face guide drawn to each country's head-size rule
  • 600 DPI photo, and a 4 × 6 inch print sheet with cut lines
  • US digital photo kept under 240 KB
  • No upload, 100% in-browser

Turn any clear, front-facing photo into a passport or visa photo at the right size for the US (2 × 2 in), the UK, Schengen visas, Australia, China, India, Nepal and other countries that use 35 × 45 mm. Pick the country, line your face up with a guide drawn to its head-size rule, then download a high-resolution photo or a 4 × 6 inch print sheet. Nothing is uploaded.

Taking a good passport photo at home

  • Stand in front of a plain white or very light wall, about half a metre away, so there's no shadow behind you.
  • Use soft, even light, facing a window is ideal. Avoid a lamp from one side.
  • Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open.
  • Ask someone else to take it from about 1.5 metres away at eye level, rather than a selfie, so your face isn't distorted.
  • Remove glasses if they reflect light, and keep your hair away from your eyes.

Pick the country in the tool and the frame and face guide change to match. The dashed oval shows where your head should sit; drag and zoom the photo until your face fits it, centred on the dotted line. The single photo downloads at 600 DPI, and the print sheet fits as many copies as the size allows on a 4 × 6 inch photo.

Canada isn't included because its passport photos must be taken and printed by a commercial photographer. If an online form sets its own file size limit, use the Photo & Signature Resizer or Compress Image to 50 KB.

Printing the sheet

Ask the photo studio to print the sheet as a regular 4 × 6 inch (10 × 15 cm) photo at its actual size, without "fit to page" or cropping. At home, choose the 4 × 6 photo paper size and 100% scale. Cut along the light grey lines and each photo comes out at its exact size.

Requirements can differ between offices, embassies and forms, so always check the instructions for the application you're making.
